Care Tip #1—Hair Algea

Setting up a Saltwater aquarium is a long process and nothing is more rewarding then finally getting to watch colorful fish swim in and out your nicely pink algae covered rock and corals thriving with life and color, but this can all be ruined when your tank is over come by hair algae.

Once this acures, there is little time to get rid of it befor it begins to take over and kill your aquarium life. Hair algae can over power and kill out many corals and live rock. I was one of the many people who end up battleing with this algae. I tried many things from changing salt mixes to changing water supply. The salt change did make a difference but it was not completely killing out the algae.

After little success I began to research the best ways to get rid of the problem and came across a simple product that comes in a sack that you place in your high water flow areas. It was a phosphate obsorber and could easily be renewed by soaking in bleach and then rinsing well. I decided to try it as a last resort. Amazingly, after about a month most of the algae was gone and although I had to remove the heavy growths by hand, no new growth came back. Now after 3 months, I can say that this product truly worked for me and I am happy to be hair algae FREE!!!!

I want to share this product with you all:
